Hello and welcome to my travel blog.

I’m Caroline, married with two grown up children, one gorgeous grand daughter and another on the way. I live partly in Surrey, near our son and daughter in law, and partly in Yorkshire, near our daughter, son in law and their baby daughter.

In between whizzing up and down the M1 we like to travel as much as we can, both in Europe and further afield. It’s now May 2016 and we’ve been lucky enough so far this year to have enjoyed some winter sunshine in Spain and Florida, braved the February cold in Edinburgh where I spent my childhood, and are just back from five days in the lovely walled city of Lucca in Italy. We will be off to Portugal next month, Edinburgh again in July and Bologna and Ravenna in Sept. The highlight of our 2016 travels, though, will be our trip to Vietnam at the end of the year.

When we’re not travelling abroad we like to make the most of more familiar surroundings and find our split existence between north and south the ideal way to do this. Whether we are having a day out in London, visiting a National Trust property off the M1 or exploring the natural beauty of Yorkshire, you can be sure we’ll be making the most of all that our own country has to offer.
